Fix iCloud Problems
iCloud is what Apple uses to help you work seamlessly on your devices. It also helps you store your files on the cloud so you can download and access them on any of your compatible devices.
One great thing about storing your photos and videos on iCloud is that you can access these files in the Photos app on any of your iOS-based devices. You don’t need to download them as a file to be able to view them. You can simply open the Photos app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac and get access to all of your uploaded files.
However, the issue arises when you want to get these files for some other use on your computer. Say, you want to edit a video that is stored in your iCloud account. For those occasions, you need to first download videos from iCloud to your computer. Once the videos have been made available on your computer, you can then start editing them however you want.
iCloud lets you do it and there is also a third-party app method to do it. We check both of those out here in this guide.
Part 1. The Official Way to Download Videos from iCloud to Computer
Even though most of the iCloud services are tailored towards Apple devices and that is how they work, Apple has actually put up a website for iCloud. This platform gives you the ability to download your videos to your computer. Since the platform can be accessed from any device, you can log-in to it from your computer and download whatever videos you prefer.
The following is how to download iCloud videos to your computer using the official Apple method.
Step 1. Open a browser on your computer and access the iCloud website.
Step 2. Once you are there, it will ask you to log-in to your account. You need to enter your Apple ID and password to access your account. Enter the details and then continue.
Step 3. After you have successfully logged in, you will see several options on your screen. These are the features you can use within the iCloud web platform. Videos are located in the Photos section. Click on that option to open your iCloud videos.
Step 4. On the screen that follows, you will see all of the photos and videos that you have uploaded to your iCloud. You can scroll up and down to get to the videos you want to download to your computer.
Step 5. Once you have found the video you want to download, click on it to select it. Then, click and hold on the download icon at the top bar.
Click on the download icon
Step 6. You will now see two options appearing on your screen. Clicking on Unmodified Original will download an exact original copy of your video. Selecting Most Compatible will download the video in a widely compatible format. Then, click on the Download option.
The video should now be available on your computer.
Part 2. Use a Third-Party App to Download iCloud Videos to Computer
Although iCloud is great enough for some Apple users, there’s another group of people who think that it still needs improvement. As a result, third-party tools are developed to give those iOS users a better experience. One of the tools we’d like to recommend here is called AnyTrans. This tool not only covers the basic function you’ll need in managing iOS devices but also offers many advanced features. Here’re what AnyTrans can do for you:
